Thanks for your interest in my new auto web site, and welcome to it.
The site includes thorough road tests of a large variety of new
vehicles, including domestic and foreign cars, trucks and car-based
crossover vehicles.
Covered are entry level makes, high-performance autos and exotics. Also
profiled are increasingly popular classic autos, including interesting
American cars and intriguing foreign cars. Such autos are
remembered--and owned--by many and often are solid investments, besides
providing driving kicks.
I often test three vehicles per week and have driven more than 4,000 of
them while auto editor/writer/columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times
newspaper for 41 years and also for Microsoft's MSN Autos web site for
more than 11 years.
Addressed are such things as ride, steering, handling, braking,
acceleration, roominess, fuel economy, safety, overall quality and
desirable standard and extra-cost items. In short, I'll do my best to
tell what you're getting for your money.
There also is a letters column dealing with a variety of subjects, such
as the pros and cons of leasing versus buying a vehicle. However, I
can't cover specific mechanical problems because I'm not a
mechanic--although I occasionally contact top consultant mechanics.
There are many web auto web sites out there, but I want this one to be
as direct and user-friendly as possible. Your inquiries and comments
are welcome.
Sincerely,
Dan Jedlicka
